Dr. Karen Pettit, DMD

MacDill Air Force Base

Dr. Pettit was born and raised in Peru. She completed her dental training at Inca Garcilaso University in 2006 and worked as a General Dentist in Peru for four years before moving to the U.S. She completed her international dental training at Virginia Commonwealth University in 2016, and to further her education, she completed a General Practice Residency at Carillion Hospital in Virginia. Upon completion, she worked as a General Dentist at Community Health Centers in Florida prior to joining Nicklaus Children’s Hospital in 2020 to complete her residency as a Pediatric Dentist.

Dr. Pettit believes that persistence and faith are two core values that have helped her to achieve her professional goals.

She has been married to her husband Tim, an ARMY veteran, for more than 10 years. Together they have a 7-year-old daughter named April, and a toy poodle named Violet. Dr. Pettit and her family live in Tampa and enjoy spending time at the beach. She also loves her winter vacations in Steamboat Springs, CO, where she goes skiing with her family.
