Dr. David McKay, DMD earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 1980 from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. With a career spanning decades, he has combined his professional expertise with a strong commitment to service, working with several charitable organizations and supporting causes that improve the lives of others. His dedication to dentistry and community service reflects his passion for making a meaningful impact both inside and outside the office.
Dr. McKay finds great fulfillment in his work as a dentist, particularly in seeing the satisfaction on patients’ faces after treatment. He is especially proud to care for members of the military community, providing dental services that help strengthen the health and confidence of active-duty service members, their families, and veterans. What excites him most in his current role is the opportunity to work alongside wonderful staff while effectively treating the unique needs of the military population.
A 20-year Navy veteran, Dr. McKay served from 1994 to 2014 at duty stations including King’s Bay and Parris Island, as well as with the Reserves at Dobbins. After his military service, he continued to serve the military community working at the VA. Retiring from full-time work after 24 years he continues to practice dentistry, enjoying the chance to stay active in the profession he loves without going “full throttle.” His military background and professional experience bring a wealth of knowledge and compassion to every patient he treats.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. McKay enjoys staying engaged in community life and personal interests. He regularly participates in charity events, and when time allows, he loves to travel to different countries and experience new cultures. A self-proclaimed buffet enthusiast, he jokes that he’s cutting back now as he gets older—but he still embraces life with curiosity, generosity, and a warm sense of humor.
